This course builds on your existing experience and knowledge of interpretation to help create interpretive plans that encompass complete visitor experiences. Throughout the course, you’ll participate in hands-on practicum activities and apply what you learn by developing an abbreviated interpretive and visitor experience plan.

  • Presenting, Implementing, and Updating Your Plan
  • Group Presentations and Continued Learning

Outcomes

After completing this course, you will have a basic knowledge of:

  • The visitor-centered interpretive planning process
  • How to create interpretive plans using the visitor experience approach
  • How to identify and analyze target audiences and keep them engaged
  • Creating theme structures and selecting appropriate media
  • Measuring and evaluating visitor experiences effectively

About the Instructor

Kyrie Thompson Kellett, CIP, plays the role of both queen and worker at Mason Bee Interpretive Planning. She is an NAI Certified Interpretive Planner with over 25 years of experience developing experiences for museums, parks, science centers, arboreta, and outdoor programs. She specializes in developing interpretive experiences that weave science and culture together using story and play. Kyrie is a Lead Trainer and a long-time member of NAI.
