The Interpretive Hosting (CIH) course is designed for those who work at an interpretive site and have contact with the public but do not lead interpretive programs. During the course, you will participate in group activities and complete a video exam.

Course Content

This 16-hour course covers:

• The history, definition, and principles of interpretation
• How to provide great customer service
• Hospitality and communication skills

Outcomes

After completing this course, you will have a basic knowledge of:

• The history of the interpretive profession
• The basic principles of interpretation
• Using informal interpretation in communications
• Providing excellent customer service

Prerequisites

You must be at least 16 years old to register.
