CIH Train-the-Trainer™

The Certificate of Interpretive Hosting Train-the-Trainer course prepares you to teach the CIH curriculum and become a Certificate of Interpretive Hosting instructor. During the course you will explore adult learning theory and effective methods of instruction, while completing activities that will help you develop your CIH course.

To become a CIH instructor, you must have taken a CIH course and earned your CIT credential. You are then eligible to enroll in a CIH Train-the-Trainer course.

Course Content

This 32-hour course covers:

  • Adult learning theory and brain science
  • Effective training techniques and engagement strategies for the CIH course
  • NAI’s policies and procedures for running a course and awarding certificates of completion

About Your Instructors

Instructors for the CIH Train-the-Trainer course are individuals who have significant experience in both training and interpretation. Depending on your course size, you may have one or two Lead Trainers facilitating your course. NAI’s current Lead Trainers are: Jane Beattie, Andre Copeland, Karin Hostetter, Chuck Lennox, and Fran McReynolds.
